Bikram Yoga Prince Albert - There are two major categories that all breathing exercises fall into. Yoga and several meditation practices utilize calming breathing exercises. This kind of breathing can be helpful when attempting to insulate from crisis, control stress or reduce anxiety. Calm breathing can be done in almost whatever surroundings without drawing whichever attention. A typical relaxation breathing exercise is breathing slowly and deeply through the nose followed by long exhalation through the mouth. Added exercises in breathing can be carried out for relaxation similar to rapid belly breaths. These breaths are designed to pull air into the abdomen while being able the feel the expansion with their hands. The air is then breathed out in a number of short bursts as opposed to one long stream.

When doing calming breathing exercises, the mind has to be still. It is effective if people could make their body go limp like a wet noodle, as though it were melting into a giant puddle. For optimum outcome, no thoughts should intrude through these exercises. It is akin to being in a relaxed and meditative condition. Relaxing breathing exercises could be used as a successful means of interrupting and stopping negative thoughts.

An exercise that can be used to quickly invigorate the body is a series of 3 or 4 brief breaths followed by one long breath. So as to maximize the benefit of this exercise, both the short breaths and the long breaths should be deep. This particular exercise can help perk people up in the mid afternoon when they tend to lose their energy.

One way in order to improve the body's overall metabolism and lung capacity is to use arm movements while performing breathing exercises. Waving the arms or even holding objects while doing figure eights while taking regular breaths could prove somewhat invigorating. A similar effect can be attained by breathing air into the lung while pulling the abdomen inward.
